This picture shows how hardworking I am in this semester :D Actually I never used the pencil till very very short, to the end of it. For some reason, I always had a lot of unused pencil around me and I always used mechanical pencil. So there’s another reason. Since Kathi gave me a pencil sharper and I’ve “collected” a lot of pencil last year from FMX, ADC, blablabla activities, and a friend of mine left me a lot of pencils, which he brought from china and didn’t use. So, that’s a great chance to use them away.
As I said, for these everyday drawing I don’t make pencil sketches. But for the homework of ISIA, I made a lot of sketches, for the character design and for trying different compositions. I hadn’t done such things before I came here. And since a suggestion of my dear friend marie, I began to do the composition tries. It helps a lot for having a good drawing at the end. An interesting idea may not be successful with a bad composition.
An the other habit, which I formed here is design the charakter at the very beginning. When I draw a serious picture, in which I want to have a little story, or it is picture for a story, I don’t know how the persons or animals move and how the posture looks like until I have an idea about their character. So I drew a lot of picture till I finally decided what they look like in the picture and then as I said I try different compositions.
